Poco Picante

  • 2 oz Arrogante Reposado Tequila
  • 0.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 0.75 oz Agave Syrup
  • 4 - 5 Fresh Cilantro Leaves
  • 4 Pieces of Red Bell Pepper - Diced in 0.5-inch cubes
  • 5 Thin Slices of Green Onion - White Parts Only
  • Garnish: Several Slices of Red Chile

First, prepare agave syrup by diluting agave nectar with water in 1 : 1 ratio. Fill a tumbler glass with large chunks of ice and set aside.

In a Boston shaker, lightly muddle together cilantro leaves, pieces of red bell pepper, thin slices of green onions (use white parts only) and freshly squeezed lime juice. Add agave syrup and Arrogante Reposado tequila. Stir well.

Add a handful of ice into the shaker and shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds. Strain the cocktail into the prepared tumbler glass through a fine mesh strainer to remove pulp and seeds. Garnish the cocktail with several slices of red chile pepper.

This recipe takes the fresh spicy flavors of Mexican Salsa and transcends them into a tequila-based cocktail! Poco Picante is also a great alternative to the Bloody Maria cocktail for people who do not like tomato juice.
