Tequila Cocktails, Shots, Flights and Bites

King Cake

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1.5 oz Arrogante Reposado Tequila
  • 3 oz Fresh Orange Juice
  • 0.5 oz Brown Sugar (not packed)
  • 2 Dashes Ground Cinnamon
  • Garnish: Orange Wedge and a Pinch of Cinnamon
  • PREPARATION:

    Measure brown sugar in a bar jigger, do not pack. Using a citrus reamer, extract the juice from an orange and measure 3 oz of juice.

    In a Boston shaker, combine together Arrogante Reposado tequila, freshly squeezed orange juice, brown sugar and 2 small dashes of ground cinnamon. Add ice and shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds.

    Strain the drink into a chilled glass through a fine mesh strainer to remove orange pulp and seeds. Garnish the cocktail with a small pinch of ground cinnamon and the wedge of orange.

    Serve with a straw.

Orange and cinnamon are traditional tequila's compadres, especially popular when combined with Reposado or Anejo. There is something irresistible in this trio and this recipe is no exception! King Cake cocktail is great for a Sunday brunch and will pair well with a dessert round at your dinner party.
